Macon County General Hospital Working for Your Better Health
Patient and Visitor Recommendations Effective 09/11/2009
In an effort to keep our patients, visitors and employees safe from the FLU, the Centers for Disease Control and Macon County General Hospital are making the following recommendations:
The hospital asks you to please refrain from bringing children to the Emergency Waiting Area or inside the Emergency Room unless they are a patient. This is for their safety/wellness as well as other patients.
If you have a cough, sore throat, and/or fever of 100 degrees or higher (flu like symptoms), and are wanting to visit a patient, please consider returning to the hospital at a later date.
If you have flu like symptoms, remain at home at least 24 hours after you are fever free.
Once you are symptom free for 24 hours, you may return to normal activities and can visit the hospital.
If you are actively coughing, but have no other symptoms, masks are available. Please feel free to use one.
Please use good hand hygiene.
